Celebrity Chef Jody Theodore Appointed CEO of The Afri-CAN Cafes, South Africa

The Afri-CAN team is delighted to announce that celebrity chef Jody Theodore has recently joined the Afri-CAN Café team as Chief Executive Officer.Capetonian born Jody developed a passion for the culinary arts at a young age with his grandmother in their family kitchen. He graduated from the renowned Silwood Kitchen School of Cooking and became the head lecturer at South Africa’s largest privately owned Chef and Hospitality Management Schools – Capsicum.

His successful career has seen him working within various well-known restaurants and wine farms, including Constantia Uitsig, Mount Nelson and Savoy Cabbage. He was also a regular guest on popular South African cooking TV shows “What’s Your Flava” and “Spekko Home Cooking”.  Jody headshot
For the past year Jody has been helping the ACC Charity with training as an independent consultant.  He likes to adopt a laid-back management style that allows employees to develop their skills through autonomy and empowerment, an approach that has worked well within the Afri-CAN team.

Jody remarked  “This is going to be an incredible journey and challenge.  I look forward to making my mark, giving back and helping this amazing Social Venture to become the largest within the African continent.  There is lots to be done, but I have a great team to work with, a fantastic mission and an exciting objective to achieve.”

We are so excited to have Jody on board full-time – his skills, knowledge and personality will be invaluable in leading the organisation through its ambitious plans for growth.
