OUR MISSION

The Afri-CAN Charity was founded in 2008. Our mission is to create, finance and mentor sustainable programs, NGOs and social ventures to alleviate poverty and hunger, to improve education, to provide skills training,  and to provide employment. We focus on the poorest communities in Sub-Saharan Africa and our beneficiaries are aged 1 to 75.  We do this to create environments and opportunities for people to realise their full potential for growth and prosperity. 

Our mantra is ‘Support, Act, Learn, Adapt’. What we mean by this is simple, sometimes we get it wrong, because aid is rarely binary, it forms a matrix of effects and sometimes when we intervene not all of these effects can be predicted. But by learning, by working with the local communities in which we operate and by listening we’re able to adapt. In doing so we get it right.
