The Afri-CAN Café welcomes new recruits and 70 children go to school

The Afri‐CAN Café Co‐operative Charity (‘ACC’) today announced in Lilongwe, Malawi, that there are now another 152 ‘members’ joining the Afri‐CAN Café Co‐operative. These are 150 chickens and two cows.

Stefan Allesch‐Taylor spokesmen for The Afri‐CAN Cafes said ‘Firstly I should point out that the chickens will be supplying eggs and the cows supplying milk, so it’s fine for the Afri‐CAN Café team to get attached to them. Although naming them all has been a challenge. Secondly, and more seriously, the purchase of these chickens and cows is an important part of the ACC’s objective to control as much of its supply chain as possible. In doing so we can determine quality control and importantly deploy our co‐operative ethos to all parts of the operation. Everyone working in all parts of the ACC will be part of it’s community.’

Helping the communities in which they are based is an objective of The Afri‐CAN Cafes and we are pleased to announce that over 70 children now have regular tuition fees paid, enabling them to attend school through the sale of fresh milk directly to customers.
