24th November 2010, Lilongwe – The Afri‐CAN Café Co‐operative Charity is pleased to announce that a licence has been issued for the third Afri‐CAN Café in Malawi. The Café will open on December 8th 2010 in Lilongwe City Centre. Lilongwe, the largest city in Malawi, has a population of 675,000, making the City Centre a prime location for The Afri‐CAN Café to provide its services.
Jessica Donnelly for The Afri‐CAN Cafés said ‘there is a Presidential order in place that restricts any new structure in the City Centre from being less than four stories high. We are extremely grateful to everyone involved in both requesting and issuing the licence for The Afri‐CAN Café, it’s a great location.’
The third Afri‐CAN Café will be located in the heart of the City Centre, opposite the Metro Supermarket. It is an area with tremendous footfall and a fantastic opportunity for the ACC members to showcase The Afri‐CAN Cafés.
Stewart Kamene will manage the third Café with Staff Members trained at two other local Afri‐CAN Cafés. Stewart said ‘I am very pleased we were able to secure this busy site in the heart of the City. We have changed the design of the Café to incorporate two ovens for the freshly baked products because we know how busy we will be. It is very exciting and we are looking forward to the challenge.’
