27th September 2011, London—The Afri-CAN Café Cooperative Charity is pleased to announce that it has ordered a further three Cafés, taking the total to eight.
Stefan Allesch-Taylor ACC Chairman said ‘We had hoped to have nine Cafés up and running by December 2011. This involves securing six new sites in 2011 and hiring and training between 40 and 50 new Staff Members. Fuel shortages and unrest have hampered roll out efforts temporarily but we remain confident the new Cafés will go ahead.’
The resilience and determination of the existing team in Malawi are a great testament to the sustainability of The Afri-CAN Café Charity’s work. A refining of the Cafés products, the increase in Staff Member numbers and the target of providing over 10,000 meals to the District Health Office in 2011-2012 being held on track means there is much for the ACC Malawi team to be proud of.’
