February 9th 2011, Malawi—The Afri‐CAN Café Co‐operative is pleased to report that after one full month of it’s three Cafés in Malawi trading all targets have been met.
Stefan Allesch‐Taylor said, “At this stage of our development our focus is not on simply making a profit. We are focused on our Staff Members honing their training, building their confidence, and equally as importantly not losing money. Our target gross margins of 40% have been met in January after just one full month of all 3 Cafés operating and that is an excellent result. There is much to do but this is a superb base to grow from and we look forward to expanding the menu for our customers and increasing takings.”
Jessica Donnelly added “Lisa Veber and I had an intense period of training in Malawi and Stewart and his team report to us regularly—The Malawian team are growing in confidence every month and we are thrilled Agnes has been promoted to Assistant Manager by Stewart.”
